I grew up in a family that encouraged making things—whether it was painting, sewing, knitting, taking photos, making jewelry and candles, cooking…you name it! But more than that, my family was big and close. (Think, 60 people at Thanksgiving!) We aren’t just relatives—we have always been each other’s biggest supporters. My parents are my best friends, and so are my cousins!
Our home was full of love, traditions, and the kind of memories that shape you in ways you don’t even realize until you’re older. The way we celebrated life, big and small, taught me how important it is to hold onto the moments that matter. Maybe that’s why photography became so important to me—it’s my way of preserving love, just like my family always has!
Aside from growing up singing & dancing, I was always the kid who carried a camera everywhere. It became my way of seeing the world. Documenting everything from family trips to quiet little moments that felt important; even if I didn’t know why at the time.
I brought a disposable camera on the first and last day of school, every year, and even made scrapbooks for all of my friends! Looking back, I realize I was always drawn to storytelling, to the emotions behind a moment…to the feeling of remembering something before it even became a memory.
Back then, I never imagined I could actually do this for a living—that something I loved so much could turn into my career! (Although I always dreamed it would). But to me, this is more than just my job—it’s an extension of who I am, and I feel unbelievably blessed! This is truly my dream, and I don’t take a second of it for granted.

the women who
shaped me
Among my most treasured possessions is a vintage brooch. Originally belonging to my great-grandmother, it was later gifted to me by my grandmother. With a hand painted pink rose on a circular mother of pearl pendant, dangling below a cream colored bow — the brooch is delicate and feminine. But the best part? When you turn it over, it reveals a small black & white photograph of my grandmother as a little girl.
It’s not just jewelry — it’s a piece of my family’s story…holding a lifetime of memories, traditions, and the love of generations before me. Family has always been the heart of me, and this heirloom is a constant reminder of where I come from and what I hold most dear. When creating the new brand for “Love, Rachel Photography”, it felt right to draw inspiration from this beautiful piece — a symbol of love, nostalgia, and timeless connection.
I’m hyper-observant, compassionate, and I care about people… a lot! Fours feel things deeply—sometimes more intensely than others—and are often searching for authenticity and meaning in everything we do…which is why this isn’t just about the pretty photos for me (but trustttt, we will get plenty of those!) It’s about capturing the way love feels—the way your person looks at you when they think no one’s watching, and the way their hand fits perfectly in yours… the moments that will turn into memories.
I'm the kind of person who romanticizes alllll the little things in life—golden-hour light streaming through the trees, the twinkling of the stars at night, or sitting in a picturesque cafe with coffee and a good book. I’m always chasing that feeling of presence, wonder, and connection. I believe it’s why I connect so deeply with my couples and why I’m so passionate about preserving those fleeting moments that might otherwise go unnoticed. Being an Enneagram 4 means embracing emotion, creativity, individuality, and the beauty in life’s unique subtleties—and that’s exactly what I aim to bring into my work.

When I’m not behind my camera - you’ll probably find me……..at home editing on the couch, to be quite honest! lol. BUT when I do get free time, I love visiting with my grandparents, traveling to places I’ve never been, strong coffee, going to the movie theater with a tub of popcorn and a coke, singing karaoke in the car and on the stage…but most importantly; cozy nights at home with my husband, a glass of wine, and our two cats - who fully believe they run this house (and let’s face it…they’re not wrong).
My husband, Morgan, is my biggest supporter, hands-down. He’s the one who cheers me on through every crazy idea and never doubts for a second that I can do it — even when I’m a little doubtful. He’s also my best friend! Whether we’re laughing over inside jokes or just sharing a quiet moment, he’s the person I want by my side through it all. Honestly, I don’t ever want to be apart from him—he’s stuck with me forever! (But I think he likes it.)

Don’t even get me started on my cats! They’re so cute that my heart literally explodes multiple times a day. My handsome old man, Cairo, has been by my side for over 15 years, purring loudly as if he's trying to tell me all his secrets. And then there’s Zoey; my sweet chonky girl, who’s basically my shadow, following me from room to room. I fully embrace the “cat lady” lifestyle, which means constant treat demands (screaming from them, not me), endless cuddles, 2 a.m. zoomies, and trying to get work done with them planted directly between me and my laptop at all times! It’s a small price to pay for all the joy—and snuggles—they bring.
